Longtime Community Leader Dr. Ann Snyder Announces Run for Township

Today, longtime resident and community leader, Dr. Ann Snyder, announced that she has filed for Position 6 on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors.

Ann and her husband, Jerry, have lived in The Woodlands in Grogan’s Mill for 26 years. She is also the President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands and the Interfaith Community Clinic, a position she has held since 2004.

"George Mitchell's dream as the founder of The Woodlands was to build not just a development, but also a community – a place where families can live, work and play. The Woodlands has provided the highest quality of life for my family and fellow residents. My husband, Jerry, and I have been blessed to raise our children in this community and be involved in so many areas," Snyder said Monday.

Throughout her life in The Woodlands, Ann Snyder has been known as a community leader who has put the needs of others first:

  • Under Ann's leadership while serving on the CISD Board of Trustees (President for 2 terms), the public school system in The Woodlands flourished, passing much-needed school bonds to build new schools in the community and to continue to provide a high quality education for our children.
  • Ann served as Chairman of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce (then known as the South County Chamber of Commerce) as well as serving as the first female President of The Woodlands Rotary Club, overseeing tremendous growth in our business community.
  • Others in the community may have previously known Ann as President of the National Charity League, President of The Woodlands Junior Golf Association, Sponsor of Interact Clubs at The Woodlands High School and The Woodlands College Park High School, President of The Woodlands High School Golf Booster Club, or perhaps their Cub Scout Leader or Sunday School teacher.

Ann Snyder is known best for commitment to preserving the quality of life that residents of The Woodlands, from young children to seniors, value most. "I will work tirelessly to protect that quality of life for every individual and family in The Woodlands and am excited to announce I am filing for Position 6," said Snyder.

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors election will be held on November 3rd, with early voting from October 19th to October 29th.
